Marcus Paul

Eclectic Praise

Marcus Paul, a native of Los Angeles, has been immersed in music his entire life. Following in the footsteps of his father, Marcus began playing trumpet at the age of five. Although he studied classical music in school, Marcus was drawn to jazz and gospel music, so his father taught him about Miles Davis, Clifford Brown, Dizzy Gillespie, James Cleveland, and Kirk Franklin, which became his biggest influences.

Marcus has performed at many venues, including The Hollywood Bowl, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Kodak Theater, the Monterey Jazz Festival, and has worked with artists such as Stevie Wonder, Jerry Hey, Bob Mintzer and the Yellowjackets, Alan Pasqua, James Moody, and Tye Tribbett, just to name a few. As a member of Eclectic Praise, Marcus sings tenor and serves as horn/string arranger. His desire to lead souls to Christ is matched by his passion for music and the opportunity to do both with Marcus Petitt & Eclectic Praise.
